Fellow Advocates,

Happy Holidays, everyone!  ECNV was started and began fighting for the right of people with disabilities to live their lives as independently as possible over 30 years ago and those rights that the disabled community has secured always require due vigilance.

ECNV asks for your help to maintain and continue that vigilance and the battle for increased independent living. This year, ECNV experienced a 34% growth in individuals achieving their independent living goals of learning to use the transit system, going to work and moving from a nursing home to the community. ECNV also offers service facilitation to about 250 people who are on the Elderly or Disabled with Consumer Direction (EDCD) Medicaid Waiver in order to help them live in our communities instead of institutions. There is a growing need and we are here to serve our constituency.

As this letter is being written, ECNV, similar to nearly every person and organization in the nation, is not entirely sure of the extent of financial insecurity that will result if we go over the fiscal cliff. What we are sure of though, is that ECNV must be available to help individuals with disabilities increase their independence.

Our budget is small and based primarily on federal, state and local funding. There is no question that secure funding enables us to provide more and better services in the community, help individuals with disabilities increase their independence, and, make the community more inclusive! Please consider making a donation to ECNV today (with Visa or MasterCard on the enclosed form, check (made payable to ENDependence Center of Northern Virginia; or by using PayPal and making a donation from www.ecnv.org).

Your generous support will help to keep our organization able to serve those who need our vital services for the next 30 years. Thank you!
