VSDB moving beyond state contractor fiasco, getting new computers without VITA’s ‘help’

STAUNTON — Karen Stinson snapped photos as hundreds of rectangular boxes were  unloaded from the back of the tractor trailer.

“This is the highlight of my day!” exclaimed the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind teacher .

Fellow teacher  Tammy Shook added to that sentiment.

“This is the highlight of the year,” she said.

It was certainly a day to celebrate — the delivery of 200 new computers after months of not only slow and outdated models, but very few of them.
