What’s New at LEND (ECNV Satellite Center)

LEND logoSpring has sprung and we at Loudoun ENDependence (LEND) absolutely love the fresh and bright opportunities that emerge as a result of warmer temperatures, being unencumbered by snow, and longer daylight hours.

With ECNV, throughout most of the winter, LEND has advocated in Richmond as well as throughout Loudoun County. LEND has participated in numerous Public Hearings and Town Hall Meetings with our legislators and we thank the Board of Supervisors for recognizing the value of nonprofits by funding the Regional Organization Grants. We look forward to strengthening partnerships at all levels throughout the remainder of the year.

Plans are already underway for the 21st anniversary of the ADA. While it’s not until July and it won’t be on the scale of the 2010 Celebration, this year is still promising to be fun. We are planning to show a series of disability-themed movies throughout Loudoun, and partnering with our friends at the Loudoun County Public Library system.

Spring is also a great time to join us on the Advisory Board! LEND is a great place to get involved in your local community and impact your neighborhood through advocacy and grassroots efforts. Contact Bill Ward, Director of LEND, for more info. on joining our advisory board.

Finally, LEND, along with our friends at TLC 4 Long Term Care Residents (TCL4LTCR), has produced a state guide for anyone facing long term care needs. The guide is available at http://www.ecnv.org. If you have questions about the guide, please contact Tracee at 571-291-9550 or traceeg@ecnv.org.
