Warren G. Stambaugh Warren G. Stambaugh (1944-1990) served in the Virginia General Assembly for 17 years, from 1973 until his death in 1990. Throughout his career, Warren fought for the rights of persons with mental and physical disabilities and for services and opportunities to assist them. He authored the landmark Virginians with Disabilities Act, which later served as the basis for the Americans with Disabilities Act.

In 2002, the Warren G. Stambaugh Memorial Foundation and the County government joined together to honor Delegate Stambaugh by establishing the Warren G. Stambaugh Center at the Arlington County Department of Human Services building. Now, nine years later, the Arlington County Department of Human Services has moved its offices to a new location.

Accordingly, The Warren G. Stambaugh Memorial Foundation in partnership with the ENDependence Center of Northern Virginia, Inc., Virginia Delegate Patrick Hope and the Arlington County government will conduct a ceremony on Thursday, January 13, at 4:00 pm to dedicate the new Warren G. Stambaugh Human Services Center, located at 2100 Washington Blvd., Arlington.

The dedication ceremony will be followed by a reception from 5:00 – 6:30 pm at Toscana Grill, 2300 Clarendon Blvd., Arlington, to raise funds to benefit ECNV. Both the rededication ceremony and the reception are open to the public; a donation of $35 per person for the general public, $25 per person for members of ECNV, is suggested for those attending the reception at Toscana Grill. Those interested in attending may RSVP at 703-524-7336 or make your reservation online at http://www.wgsmf.org/

Those unable to attend are encouraged to mail a check with their donation to benefit ECNV. Checks should be made payable to The Warren G. Stambaugh Memorial Foundation and mailed to The Warren G. Stambaugh Memorial Foundation, 239 N. Highland Street, Arlington, VA 22201.

Please write ECNV in the notation field of your check.
